Description
For sample children age 3 to 17 years who ever had an emotional or behavioral problem that lasted 3 months or more, LERNDTRETEV reports whether the child ever received treatment or counseling for the problem.
The Field Representative's Manual does not provide a definition for treatment or any criteria for counseling, so these terms are assumed to be respondent defined.
Variables related to LERNDTRETEV are included in the survey.
These include:
- Ever had a learning disability (LEARNDEV)
- Age when first noticed learning disability: Time period (LERNDAGETP)
- Age when first noticed learning disability: Number of units (LERNDAGENO)
- Received treatment for learning disability, past 12 months (LERNDTRETYR)
- Times anyone saw doctor or counselor for learning disability, past 12 months (LERNDTRETYRX)
- Missed school cuz learning disability, past 12 months (LERNDMISSYR)
- Number school days missed due to learning disability, past 12 months (LERNDMISSYRX)
- Attended special classes due to learning disability, past 12 months (LERNDCLASSYR)
- Took medicine for learning disability, past 12 months (LERNDMEDYR)
