Description
For sample adults who took pain medication at least 3 times a week over the past 3 months (PMED, PMED3MO), PMEXCED identifies those who mentioned Excedrin when asked, "Can you tell me the names of these medications?" Excedrin was one of 12 common pain medications listed on a flash card handed to the respondent at the beginning of questioning about the regular use of pain medication.
Other similar dichotomous variables covering use of specific pain medication regularly over the past 3 months are:
