Codes and Frequencies
For sample persons under age 18 who have taken at least one medicine in the past two weeks, MED2WRX1 indicates if a doctor prescribed the first type of medication the child is reported to have taken in the previous two weeks. Users interested in knowing whether the doctor had prescribed each of the different medicines the child was reported to have taken in the past two weeks should also use MED2WRX2, MED2WRX3, MED2WRX4, MED2WRX5, MED2WRX6, MED2WRX7, and MED2WRX8. Persons are also asked about the type of first reported medication used MED2W1, the main health problem for which the first reported medication was used MED2WPROB1, whether or not a doctor recommended the first reported medication MED2WDREC1, and the frequency with which the first reported medication was taken in the past three months MED2WFREQ1.
