For sample persons under age 18 who have taken six or more medicines in the past two weeks, MED2WRX6 indicates if a doctor prescribed the sixth type of medication the child is reported to have taken in the previous two weeks.
MED2WRX6 is part of the "Medicine Use" section of the 1981 Child Health Supplement. For more information and related variables about child medication intake, please see MED2W1.
Persons are also asked about the type of sixth reported medication used MED2W6, the main health problem for which the sixth reported medication was used MED2WPROB6, whether or not a doctor recommended the sixth reported medication MED2WDREC6, and the frequency with which the sixth reported medication was taken in the past three months MED2WFREQ6.
