For sample under age 18 who have taken six or more medicines in the past two weeks, MED2W6 indicates the sixth type of medicine the child has taken in the previous two weeks. The list of medicines includes: pain relievers, cough medicines, asthma or allergy medicines, medicines for topical steroids, other skin medicines, laxatives or stomach medicines, vitamins or minerals, tranquilizers or sedatives, antibiotics, or other types of medicines.

Persons are also asked about the main health problem for which the sixth reported medication was used MED2WPROB6, whether or not the doctor had prescribed the sixth reported medication MED2WRX6, whether or not the doctor had recommended the use of the sixth reported medication MED2WDREC6, and the frequency with which the sixth reported medication was taken in the past three months MED2WFREQ6.
