Description

For sample children under 18 years old who have an immunization record and who have at least one other shot on the record that was not mentioned in the survey, IMROTHY1 reports the year of the person's first other shot.

Immunization shots that were mentioned in the survey include: (IMRCPOXNO), diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (IMRDTP), hepatitis B (IMRHEPB), HIB vaccine (IMRHIB), measles or Measles-Mumps-Rubella (IMRMMR), pneumococcal (IMRPNU), polio vaccine (IMRPOL), rotavirus (IMRROTNO), tetanus-and diphtheria booster (IMRTDBNO).

Users should combine IMROTHY1 with IMROTHMO1, which reports the month of the person's first other shot, in order to get the complete date of the person's first other shot.

Comparability

Changes in the universe limit the comparability of this variable. As always, users are advised to use the appropriate weight for their analyses.

Universe

  • 1997: Sample children under 18, and all children 19 to 35 months old in quarters 1 and 2 and 12 to 35 months old in quarters 3 and 4, with available shot recordss, and with one or more other shots on record.
  • 1998-2002: Sample children under 18, and all children 12 to 35 months old, with available shot recordss, and with one or more other shots on record.
  • 2003: Sample children under 18, with available shot recordss, and with one or more other shots on record.
