Description
For sample adults age 18-64 and female sample children age 8-17, HPVACHEAR indicates whether respondents had heard of the HPV vaccine or shot. Interviewers introduced the question by stating, "A vaccine to prevent HPV infection is available and is called the HPV shot, cervical cancer vaccine, or GARDASIL.® Before this survey, have you ever heard of the HPV shot or cervical cancer vaccine?"
The Field Representative's Manual noted that the HPV-related questions were designed "to capture information on attitudes and knowledge about the HPV shot, the HPV virus, and the usage of the HPV shot or Cervical cancer vaccine."
