Description

For sample persons age 18 years and over HEARDNCI indicates if the sample person has ever heard of the National Cancer Institute.

The field representative's manual defines the National Cancer Institute, the American Cancer Society, the 1-800-4-CANCER hotline, and the Cancer Information Service as "Private and public agencies concerned with cancer research, treatment, prevention, and/or information dissemination".
