Description
For sample adults, VIGINSULT indicates how often, in their day-to-day lives, the respondent tried to prepare for possible insults from other people before leaving home.
VIGINSULT is one of a series of questions asked in 2023 from the Everyday Discrimination Scale (EDS) â Short Version and the abbreviated 4-item Heightened Vigilance Scale (HVS). These questions were added to the Sample Adult interview to better understand how discrimination relates to health outcomes, and how heightened vigilance may mediate those associations.
