Description
For sample adults in 2007 who had taken herbal supplements during the past 30 days (HERMO) and had bought herbal supplements (HERPNO and HERPTP), HERPAMT reports the amount paid the last time the respondent bought herbal supplements. Respondents reported what they had paid for herbal supplements during their last purchase in grouped dollar amounts.
Related Variables
In addition to including HERPAMT, the 2007 survey includes 19 other variables that provide data on the average out-of-pocket cost per visit to a practitioner or for a class for a particular alternative health modality, as well as data on the cost of alternative health materials purchased by the respondent. (See ACUPAID for the full list.) Analysts particularly interested in herbal supplements may wish to consult HERPRACPAY, which reports respondents' average out-of-pocket cost, in dollars, for each visit to a practitioner for herbal medicines.
