Description
For sample adults who have had symptoms of dizziness or at least one balance problem, but do not almost always have the problem, BALWMIGR reports whether the respondent had a migraine headache around the same time as the dizziness problem. The Field Representative's Manual defined "around the same time" as "just before or just after the feeling."
Respondents were first asked to identify the most bothersome dizziness symptom (BALSBOTHER).
In 2008, this variable was part of the Sample Adult Balance Supplement, sponsored by the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders.
The supplement consisted of a total 205 questions (some of which were only asked based on a previous response). For a further description of the Supplement and a list of topics included in it, see BALDIZYR
Interviewers proceeded to ask, "Do any of the following problems happen around the same time as your (Fill: most bothersome or only feeling)" and asked about a total of 22 problems. The other 21 are
