Description

For sample adults in 2007 who had taken vitamins or minerals during the past 30 days (VITMO), VITPNO reports how often the respondent bought vitamin or mineral supplements.

Interviewers asked, "About how often do you buy vitamins or minerals?" Interviewers were instructed, "If necessary prompt with: how many times per day, per week, per month or per year do you buy herbal supplements? Enter '0' if respondent does not buy vitamins or minerals."

VITPNO reports the number of times respondents had purchased vitamins or minerals and must be interpreted in conjunction with VITPTP, which reports the time period (per day, per week, per month, etc.) corresponding to the number reported in VITPNO.

Related Variables

See VITPAMT for the dollar amount spent on vitamins and minerals by the respondent during the last purchase of these materials.
