Description
For sample adults, VIGAVOID indicates how often, in their day-to-day lives, the respondent tries to avoid certain social situations and places.
VIGAVOID is one of a series of questions asked in 2023 from the Everyday Discrimination Scale (EDS) – Short Version and the abbreviated 4-item Heightened Vigilance Scale (HVS). These questions were added to the Sample Adult interview to better understand how discrimination relates to health outcomes, and how heightened vigilance may mediate those associations.
