Description

For sample adults who used sunscreen at least rarely when outside on a warm sunny day for more than one hour (SUN1SNS) and who did not give the exact sun protection factor (SPF) number of the sunscreen used most often (SPFNUM), SPFGNUM reports whether the SPF of the usual sunscreen used was "1-14" or "15-50."

SPFGNUM is completely comparable across survey years.

Universe

  • 2005; 2008; 2010; 2015: Sample adults age 18+ who answered more than one, different ones, or other to SPF number, or did not know or refused to say the SPF.
