Description
For sample persons under age 18 who took laxatives in the past 2 weeks (MLAX2W), MLAX2WDREC reports if a doctor recommended the person take or use the medication. Those who answered "yes " to MLAX2WRX have been recoded to 3 "Doctor prescribed" in MLAX2WDREC. MLAX2WDREC is part of the "Medicine Use" section of the 1981 Child Health Supplement.

- The main health problem the respondent used the laxatives for (MLAX2WPROB),
- Whether the respondent obtained the laxatives via prescription (MLAX2WRX), and
