For sample persons under age 18 who took antibiotics in the past 2 weeks (MANTI2W), MANTI2WPROB reports the main health problem for which the person took or used the medication. MANTI2WPROB is part of the "Medicine Use" section of the 1981 Child Health Supplement.

For those who respond "yes" to MANTI2W, the following information is also collected:
- Whether the respondent obtained the antibiotic via prescription (MANTI2WRX),
- Whether a doctor recommended the use of antibiotic (MANTI2WDREC), and
- How often the respondent used the antibiotic in the past 3 months (MANTI2WFREQ)
