Description

Female sample adults age 30+ who never had mammogram (MAMEV) or didn't have mammogram in past 2 years(MAMLGYRE), MAMYNOEV2YR reports the most important reason why she has never/not had a mammogram in the past 2 years.

Comparability

Prior to 2019, this variable is comparable over time. The NHIS questionnaire was substantially redesigned in 2019 to introduce a different data collection structure and new content. For more information on changes in terminology, universes, and data collection methods beginning in 2019, please see the user note.

Beginning in 2021, respondents were able to choose "I am too old" as the most important reason why she has never/not had a mammogram in the past 2 years.

  • 2000; 2005; 2010; 2018: Female sample adults age 30+ who never had mammogram (MAMEV) or didn't have mammogram in past 2 years(MAMLGYRE).
  • 2021: Female sample adults age 30+ who never had mammogram (MAMEV) or didn't have mammogram in past 2 years(MAMLGYRE).
