Description

For sample adults who had a significant non-repetitive strain injury in the past 3 months and sample children who were significantly injured in the past 3 months and saw a doctor for their significant injury or injuries (INJSIGSAWDR), INJSIGSTCH reports whether they required any stitches or staples because of their significant injury or injuries.

INJSIGSTCH is part of the rotating core NHIS questions on sudden injury. For other core sudden injury and injury-related variables, please see INJANY.

Universe

  • 2020 2021: Sample adults age 18+ and sample children age 0-17 who saw a doctor for their significant injury in the past 3 months (INJSIGSAWDR).
