Description
For all persons for whom the respondent can name a health maintenance organization (HMO) or prepaid group practice plan (PGPP) and who belong to an HMO or PGPP, HMOPGPTYP reports the type of plan the person belongs to.
This variable reports the person's unedited response and may conflict with other responses. For example, although in-universe persons reported belonging to an HMO or PGPP in HMOPGPP, respondents for this question may report that they only belong to non-HMO, non-PGPP insurance..
This variable is part of the NHIS supplement on HMO coverage.
