Description

For all persons for whom the respondent can name a health maintenance organization (HMO) or prepaid group practice plan (PGPP), HMOPGPP reports if the person belongs to an HMO or PGPP. This variable reports the person's unedited response and may conflict with other responses such as those identifying the type of HMO/PGPP the person belongs to (HMOPGPTYP).

This variable is part of the NHIS supplement on HMO coverage.
