Description
For sample adults in 2007 and 2012 and sample children in 2012 who had taken herbal supplements during the past 30 days (HERMO) and whose supplements included at least two combination herb pills (HERCOMBONO), HER2COMCOEN indicates whether Coenzyme Q-10 was among the herbs included in the second combination herb pill.
Related Variables
Coenzyme Q-10 was one of possible specific herbs that respondents could indicate taking as part of their second herbal supplement containing more than one herb. Please use the IPUMS NHIS drop-down menus and search function to explore these variables.
Comparability
Interviewers showed respondents a flash card listing specific herbs and asked which supplements respondents had taken in the past 30 days. There were slight changes in the question wording and flash cards over time. For the specific question wording in each year, please click on the "Survey Text" tab.

- 2007: Sample adults age 18+ who have taken two or more combination herb pills during the past 30 days.
- 2012: Sample adults age 18+ and sample children of ages 4-17 who have taken two or more combination herb pills during the past 30 days.
