Description
For sample adults in 2007 and 2012 and sample children in 2012 who had taken herbal supplements during the past 30 days (HERMO) and whose supplements included at least two combination herb pills (HERCOMBONO), HER2COMBIOT indicates whether prebiotics or probiotics was among the herbs included in the second combination herb pill.

Comparability
Interviewers showed respondents a flash card listing specific herbs and asked which supplements respondents had taken in the past 30 days. There were slight changes in the question wording and flash cards over time. For the specific question wording in each year, please click on the "Survey Text" tab.

- 2007: Sample adults age 18+ who have taken two or more combination herb pills during the past 30 days.
- 2012: Sample adults age 18+ and sample children of ages 4-17 who have taken two or more combination herb pills during the past 30 days.
