Description

For sample adults in 2007 who had taken one or more herbal supplements during the past 30 days (HERMOSUPNO) and had taken the first herbal supplement to prevent (but not to treat or cure) a specific health problem or condition (HER1PREV), HER1PCONNO is a summary variable reporting the number of health conditions the respondent had tried to prevent by taking a first herbal supplement.

For respondents who had taken a second herbal supplement (HERMOSUPNO) to prevent a specific health problem (HER2PREV), parallel information was collected on the number of health conditions the respondent had tried to prevent by taking that second herbal supplement (HER2PCONNO).

Comparability

HER1PCONNO is only available for 2007.

  • 2007: Sample adults age 18+ who have taken one or more herbal supplements during the past 30 days and took the first herbal supplement to prevent but not treat or cure at least one specific health problem or condition.
