Description

For sample persons age 20 and older in the second half of 1975 who had participated in soccer in the past 12 months (EXSOCRPAR), EXSOCRTOR indicates whether the person had taken participated in soccer tournaments either as an individual or as a member of a team during the past 12 months.

Soccer was one of 15 sports (including one residual "other" category) that respondents were asked about in the 1975 NHIS. In addition to being asked if they had participated in soccer tournaments, those who indicated that they had played soccer (EXSOCRPAR) were asked whether they had participated in soccer as a member of an organized team in the past 12 months (EXSOCRTEM).
