Description

For individuals who reported the month of their most recent COVID-19 vaccination of one or more doses (CVDMODOSE1), CVDYRDOSE1 reports the year of their most recent COVID-19 vaccination.

NCHS added nearly 30 questions related to COVID starting in quarter 3 of the 2020 NHIS questionnaire, eight of which are asked of both sample adults and sample children. For the full list of variables, as well as information about COVID-related changes to the NHIS, please see the user note.

Comparability

Apart from universe changes, there are no comparability issues for this variable.

Universe

  • 2021: Sample adults 18+ interviewed in quarters 2-4 and sample children 12-17 interviewed in quarters 3 and 4 who gave month of most recent COVID-19 vaccination or don't know (CVDMODOSE1)
  • 2022: All sample adults and sample children ages 5-17 who have had one or more COVID-19 vaccinations, and if interviewed in August through December, sample children ages 0-4 who have had one or more COVID-19 vaccinations (CVDSHTNUM).
