Description

For sample adults and sample children aged 12 to 17 who have received a COVID-19 vaccination (CVDSHT), CVDSHTNUM reports the number of COVID-19 vaccinations the respondent has received.

NCHS added nearly 30 questions related to COVID starting in quarter 3 of the 2020 NHIS questionnaire, eight of which are asked of both sample adults and sample children. For the full list of variables, as well as information about COVID-related changes to the NHIS, please see the user note.

Comparability

This variable has no comparability issues.

Universe

  • 2021: Sample adults interviewed in quarters 2-4 and sample children 12-17 interviewed in quarters 3 and 4 who have received a COVID-19 vaccination (CVDSHT).
  • 2022: Sample adults and sample children 12-17 interviewed January-July 2022 who have received a COVID-19 vaccination, and sample adults and sample children 5-17 interviewed August-December 2022 who have received a COVID-19 vaccination (CVDSHT).
