Description
For sample adults age 18 and over who were ever told they have cataracts, CATARACTVLOS indicates if the person ever lost vision because of cataracts.
[show more]The 2008 Field Representative's Manual described cataracts as, "clouding of the lenses which causes a general loss of detail. This may cause problems with glare or distortion, such as double images."
This variable was part of the Sample Adult Vision supplement, sponsored by the National Eye Institute.
