ARISKTRANSF reports the sample person's chance of getting AIDS is high or medium because of a blood transfusion. In 1989, this inquiry was directed at sample persons age 18 years whose chances of getting AIDS are high or medium (AIDCHANCE), in 1988 it was asked of the same group in quarters 2 through 4 (AIDCHANCE).

Data Collection Methods

In 1988-1989, the interviewer stated "do you say your chance of getting AIDS is (high/medium) because you..." Responses included "because of a blood transfusion".
