Description
For sample children with at least one residential parent, PAR1MARLEG reports the legal marital status of that parent. This variable classifies marital status into categories comparable to those defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). For the status of a second residential parent, see PAR2MARLEG.
This variable replaces PAR1MARSTAT, which was deprecated in 2024.
