Description

For sample children with two residential parents, PAR2MARLEG reports the legal marital status of the second parent. This variable classifies marital status into categories comparable to those defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). For the status of the first residential parent, see PAR1MARLEG.

This variable replaces PAR2MARSTAT, which was deprecated in 2024.
