Description
For sample children with two residential parents, PAR2MARSTAT reports the legal marital status of the second parent. This variable classifies marital status into categories comparable to those defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). For the status of the first residential parent, see PAR1MARSTAT.
This variable was deprecated in 2024. Users looking for a current measure of parental marital status should use PAR2MARLEG.
