Description

For sample persons aged 18 and over who have been tested for HIV, ATRLMAR reports if the reason for the most recent HIV test was because the person needed to apply for a marriage license.

Comparability

There are no comparability issues for this variable. Changes in survey design (e.g. quarters or subsamples) affect raw frequencies but do not affect comparability between samples. As always, data users should apply prescribed IHIS weights.

Universe

  • 1991: Sample persons age 18+ who have ever had blood tested for AIDS virus infection.
  • 1992: Half of sample persons age 18+ who have ever had blood tested for AIDS virus infection.
