For sample persons age 18 and over who were ever told they had cancer (CANCEREV), CANMOADV indicates if a health professional spoke with the sample person after their cancer diagnosis about how cancer may affect their emotions or relationships with other people.
Sample persons who did not give an affirmative response to CANEMOADV were asked a follow-up question about whether they would have liked it if their doctor had initiated a discussion about how cancer may affect their emotions or relationships (CANEMOWANT).
