Description
For sample adults in 1991 whose last routine check-up was less than 1 year ago (PHYSICALYRS) and whose doctor or other health professional recommended beginning or continuing exercise (EXDOCREC), EXDWA indicates whether the doctor or health professional recommended that the person begin or continue walking.
Related Walking Variables
Sample adults who were advised to walk were asked to report the recommended frequency and duration of walking, as well as what method they were advised to use to check how hard they should exercise.
