Codes and Frequencies
Description
For sample persons ages 18 and over who have ever had a blood test for AIDS virus infection (and whose last test was required in 1990), ATRLEMP reports if the reason for the most recent HIV test was it was required for employment.
Comparability
Changes in universe affect comparability between samples. In 1990 the universe is narrower, only including persons whose most recent blood test for AIDS virus infection was required. Otherwise there are no comparability issues.
Changes in survey design (e.g. quarters or subsamples) affect raw frequencies but do not affect comparability between samples. As always, data users should apply prescribed IPUMS NHIS weights.
