Description
For sample adults, DONUTMO reports how many times the respondent ate doughnuts, sweet rolls, Danish, muffins, or pop-tarts in the past month. This excludes sugar-free items, but does include low-fat types. Other survey years report food frequency in a standardized format, recording the number of times a food was consumed and the corresponding time unit. NHIS food frequencies in 2005 are instead classified into pre-defined frequency categories. Additionally, the classification of sweet, baked goods differs slightly across years (see COOKIESMO, PIEYR, DONUTYR). Researchers interested in more years of data may consider using the aggregated variable SWEETSYR.
