Description

For all persons, PGPPYN reports if the person belongs to a prepaid group practice plan (PGPP) other than one reported in HMOPGPP.

Respondents who could not name an health maintenance plan (HMO) or PGPP were excluded from HMOPGPP; all respondents were asked if anybody in the family is covered by a health insurance plan. Persons who are covered by PGPPs named in the follow up question are identified in this variable.

This variable is part of the NHIS supplement on HMO coverage.
