Description

Respondents reported whether feeling worried, nervous, or anxious interfered with their lives. This question was asked only of respondents who reported feeling worried, nervous, or anxious at least monthly (WORFREQ) or took medication for those feelings (WORRX).

In 2010, this item was collected for sample adults who completed the Quality of Life supplement (administered to approximately a quarter of sample adults). In 2011, this item was collected for sample adults who completed the Adult Functioning and Disability supplement (administered to a subset of sample adults).

Universe

  • 2010: One quarter of sample adults, included in quality of life supplement (and excluded from family disability supplement), who feel worried, anxious, or nervous daily, weekly, or monthly (or for whom it was unknown how often they feel worried, anxious, or nervous) or who take medication for these feelings (or for whom it was unknown whether they take medication for these feelings).
  • 2011: Sample adults 18+ who felt worried, nervous, or anxious daily, weekly, or monthly, or refused to answer or didn't know how often they had such feelings OR who took medication for these feelings or refused to answer or didn't know if they took medication for these feelings.
