For sample adults in 2007 who had taken one or more vitamin supplements during the past 30 days (VITMOSUPNO) and had taken the first vitamin supplement to prevent (but not to treat or cure) a specific health problem or condition (VIT1PREV), VIT1PCONNO is a summary variable reporting the number of health conditions the respondent had tried to prevent by taking a first vitamin supplement.
For respondents who had taken a second vitamin supplement (VITMOSUPNO) to prevent a specific health problem (VIT2PREV), parallel information was collected on the number of health conditions the respondent had tried to prevent by taking that second vitamin supplement (VIT2PCONNO).
