Description
For sample adults and sample children who had an H1N1 flu vaccine, VACH1N1DYR reports the year the person received the vaccine. In the case of sample children, VAC1H1N1DYR indicates the year the child received his or her most recent H1N1 flu vaccine.VAC1H1N1DYR should be interpreted in conjunction with VAC1H1N1DMO, which reports the month of the person's H1N1 vaccination.
Beginning in August 2010, NHIS no longer asks about H1N1 vaccinations separately from seasonal flu vaccines. For more information, see the Comparability Tab of VACFLUYR.
The related variable VAC2H1N1DMO reports the year of the second most recent H1N1 vaccination for sample children who had more than one H1N1 vaccine dose.
VAC1H1N1DYR is part of a series of variables introduced in 2010 dealing with immunization. For other related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
