Description
TOBLSYR reports if the respondent was using any kind of tobacco product "around this time last year". Only respondents who indicated they had smoked at least 100 cigarettes in their entire life (SMOKEV), ever smoked non-cigarette tobacco products (NONCIGEV), or ever used smokeless tobacco products (SMKLSEV) were asked this question.
Comparability
TOBLSYR was introduced in 2012, along with five other questions regarding non-cigarette tobacco use, as part of the adult health behaviors section of the sample adult questionnaire. There are no comparability issues.
