Description

For sample adults age 18+ and sample children ages 4-17, THPYMUSIC indicates whether they saw a music therapist during the past 12 months. Respondents were told that "music therapists use music with patients to promote healing and quality of life."

THPYART was one of twenty-five variables sponsored by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to assess complementary and integrative health (CIH) practices in 2022. Similar questions about CIH practices were previously fielded in 2002, 2007, 2012, and 2017.
