Description

TBKNOW reports the respondent's perceived quantity of knowledge about tuberculosis (TB). In 1994 and 1995, this information was collected from all sample adults. From 2000 forward, interviewers asked only sample adults who responded, "Yes" to the question, "Have you ever heard of tuberculosis?" (TBHEARD).

Comparability

Along with universe changes, there was a slight change in the question wording for TBKNOW over time.

In 1994 and 1995, interviewers asked, "How much would you say you know about Tuberculosis - a lot, some, a little, or nothing?" From 2000 forward, interviewers asked, "How much do you know about TB - a lot, some, a little, or nothing?"
