Description
For sample respondents age 18 and over in 1994 and 2005, this variable indicates how many residents of the respondent's home smoke cigarettes, cigars, or pipes anywhere inside the respondent's home in an average week (or "usual week" for 2005). For 1992, the question wording asked "on an average week day" rather than in an average week. This question was asked of respondents who indicated they lived in home where someone smoked (SMOKEHOME =2).
Related Variables
For all years, respondents who indicated they lived in home where a resident smoked were also asked to report the average number of days per week a resident smokes inside their home (SMOKHOMRESDA) .
