Description

For sample adults who ever had a skin cancer examination and who did not know the month and year of the exam or had the exam in 1989, SKNXM13Y reports the grouped number of years since the respondent's last skin exam by a dermatologist or other physician.

Researchers are advised to use SKNXMG13YRinstead of SKNXM13Y because while the former variable recodes responses from all of the other time format questions, the later variable is only asked of respondents who did not know the month and year of their last skin cancer exam or had their exam in 1989.

These questions are asked in a section titled, "Cancer Screening Knowledge and Practice."
