Description

For all persons, RADAY2WK reports the number of days in the past two weeks, other than those spent in bed or lost from work or school, on which the person cut down on the things that she or he usually does because of illness or injury.

RADAY2WK was introduced in 1968 as part of a series of variables used to determine if an illness or injury has caused persons to restrict their usual activities during the two-week reference period. For more information please use the search function and IPUMS NHIS drop-down menus.

Comparability

There are slight changes in the universe over time. From 1963-1968, the universe was restricted to persons who reported restricting their activity in the past two weeks. Beginning in 1969, the questions related to RADAY2WK are asked of all persons. Otherwise, there are no comparability issues.
