Description

For male sample adults aged 40 years and older who ever had a PSA test (PSAEV), PSALGYRR1 is a recoded variable that reports the number of years since the respondent's most recent PSA test in grouped years.

 

The survey layout file noted that, "This is a time category recode for the time since the most recent PSA test. This variable uses the same information collected in 2000 and 2003, and the same estimation method used in 2000."

Another variable, PSALGYRR2 is similar, but recoded using the same method as used in the 2005 survey.
