Description
For male sample adults aged 40 years and older who have ever had a PSA test (PSAEV), PSALDMO reports the month of the respondent's most recent PSA test. This variable accompanies PSALDYR, which gives the year of the respondent's most recent PSA test.
Respondents could have alternatively chosen to answer this question using the time period format. The variables for responses in time period format are PSALNO (number of units since last PSA test) and PSALTP (time period accompanying number of units since last PSA test).
In 2000 and 2003, the survey form directed interviewers to, "Enter 'T' to use time period format."
From 2005 forward, the survey form directed interviewers to, "Enter month of last PSA test" and "Enter '96' to go to number and time period format."
For more information, please see PSAEV.
