Description
For sample persons age 18 years and older who were not employed in the past 2 weeks (EMPSTAT) and whose main daily activities requires a great deal or a moderate amount of hard physical work (PHYSACTMA), PHYSACTMAHR reports the number of hours per day they performed hard physical work in their main daily activity.
The field representative's manual states that "Hard Physical Work" as respondent defined. It also states that "if the person does not have a job or business, "main daily activity"... consists of whatever activity the person does most of the day".
Universe
- 1985; 1990: Sample persons age 18+ who were not employed in the past 2 weeks and whose main daily activity required a great deal or a moderate amount of hard physical work.
