Description

For sample children with two residential parents, PAR2MARCUR indicates the current marital status of the second parent. This variable classifies marital status into categories that are comparable to those in the 1997-2018 NHIS. Current marital status for the first residential parent is indicated by PAR1MARCUR.

This variable replaces PAR2MARST which was deprecated in 2024.
